Day 12 - Thursday 29 September

Last full day in Grand Teton today, so again we we're up with the dawn. Luckily having a room with such a great view we didn't have to go far.

A quick shower, then off to find some more views..

Peter was caught short...

More local wildlife

and more views..

Found the local store

Which sold some great furniture...

and even some new underwear for Peter ....

A final evening view

and a long shot of a bald eagle again..

The last night shot in Grand Teton.

Day 11 - Wednesday 28 September

It may be a certain persons special birthday, but we still set the alarm for a pre sunrise start. After all we're not on holiday for a rest!

The sun was just coming up as we checked out, and started heading for Grand Teton.

As before, the early start gives you some good photo subjects

Before leaving Yellowstone we met some more Buffalo on the road

Then revisited a last thermal area

and saw even more buffalo, they're everywhere!

It wasn't too far to drive to get to Grand Teton

The birthday girl
Initial impressions of the park were good..

These were cemented when we arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and walked into our room to this stunning view.....

Decided to have a late lunch here and Elaine opened a few cards :)

Then it was off see what we could see for the rest of the day. First was a cute little church..

and why would you have a stained glass window backing the alter when you can use this view?

That really is the wimdow!

Continued to drive around the park, towards a road we hear is good for wildlife at the end of the day.
Picked up some good views on the way.

We arrived at the road hoping to top off Elaine's birthday with some good views of the local wildlife. Luckily we weren't dissapointed...

and finally an atmospheric sunset view on the way back to the hotel. Not a bad way to spend your birthday!

Day 10 - Tuesday 27 September

We have internet access again, so here's trying to catch up....

Set the alarm for an early start to catch the sunrise in Yellowstone

and any early rising animals.. elk this time, they're in rut at the moment.

It was also quite misty in places, good for car advert shots.

It also made the thermal areas look really good.

After looking at a few sites we arrived at the famous one, luckily in time to see it go off

The next site was on the shore of the lake

Of course driving around the park, you also meet the wildlife

sometimes up pretty close...

One last stinky vent, towards the end of the day

On the way back to the hotel we caught site of this bald eagle on his nest

Back in town we found some painted buffalos while we shopped for supplies for tomorrow

Tomorrow we leave Yellowstone, and head for Grand Teton National Park.
